NHL bets: Pile on the Panthers shot props tonight

We begin a fresh series in the Eastern Conference with the Florida Panthers hosting the Boston Bruins, a rematch of last year's first round upset that saw No. 8 Florida take down the President's Trophy winning-Bruins. 

The Panthers are rested, while Boston is coming off a grueling seven-game series against Toronto. As such, I do expect Florida to dictate pace here and find some paths of offense to operate with.

Off that belief, I'm projecting plenty of Panthers shots, as is so often the case when they skate at home. There are three clear players of interest that all offer some intriguing value. By all means, consider betting them all straight at their 3.5 lines, I'm going a touch aggressive on the trio.

Loading up on Matthew Tkachuk, Carter Verhaeghe & Sam Reinhart

These three have been rolling to start the playoffs, and they all sit atop Florida's even-strength rankings for shots, expected goals, goals, high-danger chances, everything. Tkachuk and Verhaeghe skate together on the same line, and Reinhart is on Florida's second line and should be taking on the burden of shot creation among that forward group.

Tkachuk tallied four, four and six SOG in three home games last round and now is averaging 5.8 SOG per game across his past five at home. He's averaging 4.5 shots/game in his last eight home games against Boston.

Verhaeghe piled up 14 shots on goal in his past two at home and now has 3+ in four straight. He's had some solid games vs. the Bruins this year, going for 4+ shots in three of four.

Then there's Reinhart, who now has 3+ shots in 14 of his last 15 games and 4+ shots in nine straight at home. That includes 5+ shots in all three games in the first round. The man is simply rolling.

Again, consider betting any and all of these shooters straight. I am playing them like so:

• .25u: Tkachuk, Verhaeghe, Reinhart 5+ shots (+5437 FD)

By extension, I do like Jeremy Swayman's saves prop, whenever that gets posted. I will likely be betting that also. Enjoy tonight's Game 1, bring on the shots!
